Baked Apples with Raisins




The perfect after-dinner winter warmer that will be enjoy by young and old alike.

Ingredients:
5 to 6 cooking Apples cored (Granny Smiths are ideal)
1/2 a cup of Raisins
1/2 a cup of Sugar
2 tablespoons of ground Cinnamon
1 cup of hot water (or apple cider)

Simmering time on the stove: 5 minutes
Thermal Cooking time: 2-3 hours minimum

Method:
1. Place the cored apples upright in the inner pot
2. Fill the centre of each apple with raisins.
3. In a bowl, combine the water, cinnamon and sugar, then pour the mixture over the apples.
4. Bring the pot to the boil on low heat and then simmer for five minutes with the lid on.
5. Turn off the heat and place the inner pot into the outer Thermos container and close the lid.
6. Leave for a minimum of 2 to 3 hours.
7. Serve with ice cream, cream or yoghurt.
